We arrived on a sunny Monday afternoon. The sky was clear and it was a mild (compared to previous weeks) -10. Then this happened:
In just a few hours overnight, some 10cm of snow dropped as fast my jaw did when I woke to discover it. Sacrebleu! That was a lot of snow.
Back in London this would have caused transport mayhem and would resulted in a day off and snowmen a plenty. Here, however, is not London.
My first journey to work was much more interesting than usual
I know there'll be plenty of you out there who are used to snowy conditions and will scoff at my surprise of how the city still functions under such conditions. I'll put it this way. Something like this (see picture below) is the most snow you'll ever find in London and it's enough to completely cripple the entire city (including the underground which is, well, underground!)
The snow is now melting and creating swimming pools at every street corner and my feet are wet. Spring is sure to kick in soon. Soon.....
